Linear Guide Accessories: Grease Volume, Fittings, Seal Codes and Block Length

How to choose linear guide sealing? From catalogue A84–A96: grease fill volume and feed rate per size, oil fitting types and part codes, what the WW/WU/WZ/DU/DZ/BN seal codes mean, and how block length changes once accessories are fitted.

1. Grease fill volume and feed rate (Tables 2.7.1 / 2.7.2)

Grease fill volume scales with size: a single TR65 block takes 75 c.c. at 0.6 cm²/hr. Larger sizes must be topped up on schedule or life drops sharply.

2. Seal and accessory code meanings

Append a two-letter code to the model for sealing and extended lubrication; each letter stands for one accessory in the kit.

CodeIncluded accessories
WWReinforced end seal + lower seal + polymer oil reservoir
WUReinforced end + lower + upper seal + polymer oil reservoir
WZReinforced double-end + lower + upper seal + polymer oil reservoir
DUReinforced end + lower + upper seal + polymer reservoir + metal wiper
DZReinforced double-end + lower + upper seal + polymer reservoir + metal wiper
BNReinforced end seal + oil box

Metal end caps, dust steel strips and other special items are available on request.

3. Block length with accessories fitted (Table 2.10.2)

This is the practical one: fitting seals and an oil reservoir lengthens the block, eating into the space available. A TR45 standard N block is 112.3 mm but becomes 121.8 mm with a full DZ kit — 9.5 mm longer. Always check the mounting space against the actual configured length before ordering.

FAQ

The seals make the block longer and I am short on space?
Pick a shorter length code from Table 2.10.2 (S is shortest, then N), switch to a low-assembly series such as TRS/SRS, or use lower-lock rails so the bolt heads do not protrude.
Polymer oil reservoir or conventional grease?
The polymer reservoir is self-lubricating and slowly releases oil, greatly extending the service interval — good for light loads and inaccessible installations. Conventional grease suits heavy loads and high temperatures with better heat dissipation but needs periodic top-ups.
How are the seal codes composed?
The first letter is the end-seal type (W reinforced, D reinforced double-end); the second is the extra kit (W lower seal, Z upper/double seal, U oil reservoir, D metal wiper, N oil box). DZ = reinforced double-end + lower + upper seal + reservoir + metal wiper.
